Miguel Mandelli, Guitar
Born in Florianópolis/Brazil in 1995, Miguel Mandelli, an international classical guitarist and guitar teacher, is 1st prize winner of three national solo guitar competitions, three national chamber music competitions in Brazil, winner of 3 international competitions, one of them the prestigious XX Enrico Mercatalli Gorizia international Guitar competition. He also received the Villa-Lobos Prize for the best interpretation of a work by Heitor Villa-Lobos in the XXX Koblenz International Guitar Competition, and was a finalist in many other competitions.
Miguel has given solo concerts in Brazil, Argentina, Ireland, England, Italy, Austria, Germany, Croatia, Holland and the Czech Republic.
Miguel Mandelli studied with Angela Muner (BRA), Edson Lopes (BRA), Petra Polackova (CZE) and Hubert Käppel (DE). He played first guitar in the guitar orchestra of Tatuí (Sao Paulo) for 3 years. Miguel is now studying with Gerhard Reichenbach, professor at the Musikhochschule Köln.
Teaching has always accompanied Miguel’s solo career. He started at the age of 17 as a tutor of new students at the International Conservatory of Tatuí (Sao Paulo). In Ireland (2015) Miguel taught music to children and people with special needs, where he worked alongside music therapist John Clark (Scotland). He gave private lessons during his studies in Italy in Rome and Florence as well as in Graz in Austria.
Miguel Mandelli currently teaches at the public music school in Sankt Augustin (head of department for plucked instruments), at the Rheinische Musikschule in Cologne and at the Ida Bieler Music Academy.
