Roberta Mercorio, Guitar

Roberta Mercorio

Roberta Mercorio was born in Caserta in 1999. She began her musical studies at the age of 10 with Corrado Videtta. She continued her studies at the Liceo Musicale Luigi Garofano in Capua (CE), where, under the direction of Giancarlo Perna, she got her diploma Cum Laude in 2017. She was admitted to the Domenico Cimarosa Conservatory in Avellino, where, in 2023, she graduated with High Honors under the direction of the Professor Adriano Walter Rullo. During the academic year 2023/2024, she attended a Postgraduate Course at the prestigious Mozarteum University in Salzburg, in the class of Professor Andrea De Vitis.

During the course of her career, she attended numerous masterclasses with leading figures such as Giorgio Albiani, Antigoni Goni, Margarita Escarpa, Łukasz Kuropaczewski, Aniello Desiderio, Eduardo Isaac, Lucio Matarazzo, Gabriel Bianco, Marco de Biasi, Fernando Lepri, Antonio Rugolo, Angelo Marchese, Paolo Pegoraro, Adriano del Sal and Gianluca Persichetti.

In 2019 she began to deepen her study of chamber music, founding the Fairy Guitar Quartet, with which she attended lessons from the Quartetto Prometeo, Massimo Delle Cese and Andrea Dieci at the Avos Project Academy in Rome.

During her Conservatory years, she began to develop a strong interest in contemporary music and, in 2023, she performed and premiered the piece Disiunctio, dedicated to her by Francesco Fausto Magaletti. In 2024, she also premiered Lamentation D’Orphee, by Sarai Vangelli de Cresci, with the CumTempora guitar ensemble, under the direction of Andrea De Vitis.

Her interest in Argentinian music, shared with the Fairy Guitar Quartet, led to the recording project Volver, realesed in autumn 2024 with the label Stradivarius. She is now attending her second Postgraduate with the Professor Antigoni Goni at the Real Conservatory of Bruxelles and she is living in Cologne where she teaches and develops her career as a guitarist.

Roberta Mercorio plays a Mirko Migliorini guitar.
