Josefina Guilleminot, guitar/music theory

Josefina moved to Germany in 2022 and started her master of music in composition in the class of Prof. Johannes Schild in October the same year.

She finished her bachelor in musical theory at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in 2019. During her studies she was awarded the scholarship for musical excellence of the Musical Institute of the Catholic University for two consecutive years. She also worked as a teaching assistant for musical literature, harmony, musical analysis and history at the same university.

In 2019 she participated as an assistant in the projects “Reception, spreading and canonization of the opera in three south pacific Harbors (Guayaquil, Lima and Valparaíso) between 1830 and 1860” by José Manuel Izquierdo and “Music and liturgy in the Dome of Lima during the vice royal era” by Alejansro Vera. Both projects were financed by the National Foundation of Scientific and Technological development (Fondecyt).

In the years 2012-2916 Josefina studied classical guitar, first at the Southern University of Chile and later at the Catholic University of Chile, with professors Wladimir Carrasco and Luis Orlandini. During this time she also participated in various masterclasses and seminars with artists such as Leo Brouwer, Marco Tamayo, Hopkinson Smith and Pablo Márquez.

Since 2018 has been working as a music teacher with great commitment. Her passion for languages has also brought her to teaching her mother tongue Spanish to foreign students.
